The Swiss Mishap
by Amey Zeigler

perf5.000x8.000.inddFor the last twelve years, more than half her life, Lainey Peterson has prepared to design, create, and produce quality chocolate bars. But when she discovers her chocolate internship at Switzerland’s prestigious Alpine Foods has been canceled, she vows to do whatever it takes to get to Chocolate.

Yves Claremont, a young, ambitious department chair, would sacrifice everything to rise to vice president at Alpine Foods and redeem his father’s name. Impressed with Lainey’s resume and charming determination, Yves offers her an internship in his Pet Care department, promising a recommendation for Chocolate if she does well.

Lainey is drawn to the enigmatic and passionate Yves Claremont. He cannot deny his growing attraction to her. But inter-office relationships are strictly forbidden by Alpine Foods, and a perceptive co-worker, jealous of Yves’ success, will undermine Yves and Lainey any way he can.

Top Ten List:

Ten Fun Facts

1. Amey Zeigler lived in Switzerland in her twenties and her experience there was inspirational for the setting for The Swiss Mishap

2. Before Amey Zeigler went to Switzerland, she didn’t really like chocolate. Now she only eats Swiss chocolate.

3. In the book The Swiss Mishap, Lainey hauls a recliner up four flights of stairs. Amey did, too!

4. Amey did hours of research on chocolate for the book The Swiss Mishap. Only 2% of that information made it into the book.

5. One of the best things in life is to eat chocolate and bread together. In Switzerland, they sell long skinny “branches” of chocolate. If you hallow out a demi-baguette, the branch of chocolate fits perfectly inside.

6. Amey collected recipes while she lived in Switzerland. The Swiss Mishap includes a recipe for yummy chocolate mousse.

7. The male protagonist’s name in The Swiss Mishap is Yves, which sounds like Eve. Amey actually met a hot guy named Yves while living in Switzerland, and he might have been the inspiration for the character. There was also a hot guy named Loïc who worked at the photo shop so maybe she should write another book with the male protagonist named Loïc.

8. Martin, the computer loving geeky nerd who helps Lainey, was inspired by my husband who is a total computer guy!

9. The scene in The Swiss Mishap where Lainey and Yves drive up the mountain and Monthey was inspired by an experience where someone drove Amey and a friend up the mountain for a “real Swiss meal.”

10. Amey really did spend about 12 hours a day talking with the people of Switzerland, not necessarily about pets, but she did learn to love the Swiss people, speaking French and learned to appreciate the culture.

Day 9 VCB AuthorAngelique Conger discovered the wonders of writing books later in her life. Books, however, have always been important to her. As a little girl in a small town, she was given her own library card at the tender age of five, highly unusual in those days.

Angelique reads a book, or three at once, much of the time. She reads most genres of books and until recently only toyed with writing them. Since beginning, she has spent many hours each day learning the craft of writing and editing.

Many would consider Angelique Conger’s books Christian focused, and they are because they focus on early events in the Bible. She writes of a people’s beliefs in Jehovah. However, though she’s read in much of the Bible and searched for more about these stories, there isn’t much there. Her imagination fills in the missing information, which is most of it.

Angelique lives in Southern Nevada with her husband, turtles, and Lovebird. She enjoys visits with her grandchildren — and their parents.

The Last Goodbye – The Beginning
by Bernadette Marie

Everyone deserves one last goodbye.

Day 3 VCB CoverAs far back as Grace Carter could remember, she’d been able to communicate with the deceased. Of course, working in her family’s mortuary put her in constant contact with those who had crossed over, if she didn’t take steps to block them out, which she preferred to do. However, some spirits are stronger than others…

Nora Campbell had nearly been ready to die, but she still had some unfinished business. From the other side, she found the woman she wanted her grandson to fall in love with, and she put her matchmaking plan in motion. Nora was insistent that Grace get a message to her grandson, TV reporter Matthew Campbell, and together they could pass on the last goodbyes of those who had passed.

Only now Grace must convince Matthew she is in touch with his grandmother and not some crazy woman who spends all her time with the deceased.

The Wayward Miss Wainwright
by Arabella Sheraton

A witty traditional Regency romance that will captivate fans of the genre.

Day 1 VCB CoverWhen Helena Wainwright accompanies her two young nieces and her nephew to stay at Rotherham Park with their new guardian who is their uncle, the Duke of Rotherham, she agrees to remain for six months to help the children adjust to their new life. She finds the handsome, charming Duke of Rotherham to be the most insufferable, self-opinionated, domineering and arrogant man she has ever met. Unhappily, the duke also holds an unflattering opinion of Helena. “Wayward was the only word to describe such a determined, contrary, and obstinate young woman who defied him at every turn regarding the upbringing of his wards. He would be very glad to see her go.”

The Duke of Rotherham is contemplating making Miss Emily Fanshawe, a beautiful, and (everyone thinks) well-bred young woman an offer of marriage. However, Emily has terrible secrets to hide, besides having a clandestine lover. Helena discovers Emily’s secrets and does not know which way to turn. If she reveals the truth to protect the duke’s social standing, she will betray Emily, with dire consequences. Besides, the duke seems determined to marry Emily, simply to prove a point, even though his godmother, Lady Mildred Ormsby has suspicions the Fanshawes are not who they say they are! Emily’s mother is hell-bent on marrying her daughter off to a rich, preferably titled, man. She will let nothing stand in her way, even stooping to abduction and possibly murder.

Can Helena win in the face of heavy odds and the machinations of a wicked schemer? And will she want the Duke of Rotherham for herself when hidden elements of his romantic past come to light?
