The Author:

a1gbult5qwl-_ux250_Markie was born August 19, 1975 in Midland, Texas, but she grew up in Flushing, Michigan. While in high school, she won the National Quill and Scroll Society award for best photograph in a high school newspaper. She took creative writing and also attended a Young Author Fair. She graduated in 1993. She got married in 1994 and they now have two teenage daughters. Currently, she lives in the small farm town of Fisk, Missouri (population 326) with her family, three rescue dogs, and a horse that she raised and trained herself. She’s also won a writing contest on writers’ website Scribophile, where the assignment was to write a letter to anyone.

Metamorph’s first book was Once Upon a Western Way. It was published via Smashwords in 2012, available for Nook, iPhone, Kobo, and many other e-reader devices. After her battle with cancer in 2013, and the loss of her job, Markie turned back to writing. Metamorph has since made Once Upon a Western Way available in print, as well as published Keeping a Backyard Horse and My Butterfly Cancer. Metamorph is currently working with two other aspiring authors, helping them to become published writers as well.
