To celebrate the release of the second instalment in the Rise of the Elohim chronicles, the Eye of Mares is going to blog hopping like a headlining rockstar, multiple showings for over the course of two weeks, with a new page shared with each appearance, continuing from where the last one went off and today I get to host the latest page:

…uncovered and show their face, just so he could wipe them from this world,” Gremora remarked in reply.

“But why? We already know he is the most powerful of us all. He doesn’t need to prove it to any of us,” Shimay shot back. His eyes moved to the volcano in front of him. Hot lava boiled and curdled inside it.

Gremora continued to follow his companion over the island that would later become the Isle of Iris, but as of this moment, it served as the Kingdom of the Shanzi King. “Of course he doesn’t, but he is the King and he has his pride. It is not to us he wishes to prove himself, but to himself.” Gremora grunted wisely.

As Darkari’s right hand, the second in command, he knew Darkari better than most.

“Maybe you’re right.” Shimay shrugged. His ears picked up the sound of wings flapping in the distance. “Besides you know the King is busy these days, occupying himself with his pets and plans, known only to him.” Gremora hissed his words, as Shimay scoffed in disgust.

The sound of wings drew nearer. Annoyed, Shimay remarked, “I can remember a time when you addressed me as sir!” The smaller Shanzi’s mind drifted backward; he was one of the first to swear allegiance to Darkari. He was one of the Shanzi who played a huge role in making the Shanzi obtain the title of King, only to be cast out in recent centuries, just to have his protégée Gremora hand-picked to be Darkari’s second command.

Gremora snarled and flashed an angered look at Shimay. He detested hearing his former Commander announce this fact. He felt the desire to speak, but didn’t get the opportunity to do so as another did it for him. A huge werewolf, equal in size to Gremora, leapt out of nowhere and addressed him.

“Maybe Shimay, it is because where you only embraced Darkness, we were born from it!” the werewolf…
